Coordinating Team

Goals

 

Our goals are based on the four areas of our Presbyterian Women purpose:

 

1.      “TO NURTURE OUR FAITH THROUGHT PRAYER AND BIBLE STUDY…”

 

We commit ourselves to:

 

·        provide workshops on prayer and on Bible study at the Spring Gathering and the Fall Cluster Gatherings,

 

·        promote the Bible Moderators Gathering,

 

·        Fall Cluster Gatherings, and

 

·        Pray for the members of this Coordinating Team.

 

2.      “TO SUPPORT THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH WORLDWIDE…”

 

We commit ourselves to:

 

·        use the MISSION YEARBOOK FOR PRAYER AND STUDY at all our meetings,

 

·        provide mission opportunities at the Spring Gathering to encourage Presbyterian Women to support Presbyterian mission projects through personal involvement, letters, prayer, and finances,

 

·        distribute pledge forms each fall encouraging Presbyterian Women in local congregations to support the ongoing mission projects of the Presbyterian Church USA,

 

·        include information about the pledge forms in the newsletter and at the Cluster Gatherings,

 

·        encourage participation in the Birthday and Thank Offerings, and

 

·        include the Treasurer’s report in the Spring Gathering packets. 

 

3.      TO WORK FOR JUSTICE AND PEACE”

 

We commit ourselves to:

 

·        provide each Coordinating Team member with a Manual for Presbyterian Women, a copy of the Coordinating Team Goals and bylaws. The Secretary shall order materials or make copies, as requested.

 

  • include Peace and Justice issues in workshops or other special presentations at the Spring Gathering and the Fall Cluster Gatherings and the Mission Link newsletter.
     

  • Promote opportunities of the other divisions of Women’s Ministry in the newsletter and with handouts or flyers at the Spring Gathering. 

4.      “TO BUILD AN INCLUSIVE, CARING COMMUNITY OF WOMEN”

 

We commit ourselves to:

 

  • include community building activities at all meetings,
     

  • provide information at the Spring Gathering about the next Synod Gathering and/or Churchwide Gathering and names of newly elected officers, and
     

  • send the Moderator, Vice Moderator and Cluster Leaders to the next Synod Gathering if able, and encourage other women to go.

    “THAT STRENGTHENS THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (USA)”     

We commit ourselves to:

 

  • provide a workshop at the Spring Gathering for new leaders, and
     

  • encourage women to serve as commissioners to Synod and General Assembly and send their names to the Mission Presbytery Search Committee. 

“AND WITNESS TO THE PROMISE OF GOD’S KINGDOM.”

 

We commit ourselves to:

 

  • encourage women of all ages to develop their faith and skills as participants and leaders of Presbyterian Women, and 
     

  • provide information about Church Women United and “The Fellowship of the Least Coin”.
